Do I still drink alcohol?

You bet I do!

One thing that I have to be cautious of is when I’m over-using alcohol as a comfort. I went through a period of my life where I drank daily. I couldn’t wait to see the clock turn to 5:30 because it meant there was a break coming from my very stressful day.

What I really needed during that very stressful phase was a shift in perception. If I had been better equipped to handle the giant stress ball that life threw at me I wouldn’t need to drink my night away when I tried to set the ball down.

Sometimes we do need to be in a different job or a different relationship and sometimes we drink because we can’t leave the one that we are in. If you find yourself in that situation then try and take baby steps to get yourself out of it.

A good rule of thumb is to drink 80z of water with every alcoholic drink that you have. Try to also keep track of your drinking by purchasing “single” size products. If you need to buy enough for the whole week then OK but it will be much easier to see how much your consuming with a few mini bottles vs. a never-ending box of wine.
