The Sacred Diet

to eat clean is to eat things found in nature.

Not in marketing.

Cholesterol is essential to good hormone health which is just one reason why I believe a lot of functional medicine doctors studying Endometriosis recommend a diet that’s closer to Paleo than Vegan. Still I haven chosen to concentrate on plant based foods for my diet. That’s simply what works for me, my conscience and my taste buds.

Unless you were close to being royalty than an ancestral diet also probably contained a lot of processed foods. Things that could be cured or fermented and then stored and kept for times when fresh foods were not available. So I’m not 100% sold on the idea that absolutely everything about food was better before we had modern conveniences. As with anything in life, labels don’t tell the whole story. So don’t just buy foods because they are sold by a company that is promoting the Paleo lifestyle or the Keto lifestyle or whatever it may be.

an abundant intake of fruits and vegetables will make you a happier person.

National Institutes of Health (NIH) published a study that showed that eating a diet consisting of a lot of processed foods caused participants to gain weight when compared to those eating a less processed diet with the SAME amount of calories / protein / fat / sugar / salt offered to both.

One thing that I can tell you for certain is that the exact right diet for you is going to be one that you arrive at intuitively. If you learn to trust yourself and put away all of the other rhetoric that you’ve learned about dieting, you will succeed in nourishing yourself.

IMPULSE SERVES THE WOUNDED SELf

INTUITION SERVES THE HIGHER SELF

Which are you choosing?

In 2016 I faced a difficulty in life that caused me to lose my appetite completely. The first week of having to remind myself to eat was unusual but overall not very significant. The second week, I kind of started to get worried. By the third and fourth weeks, I experienced what I can only call, a transcendence.

Months later, I happened upon: Isaiah 58:6 (while browsing the internet) “Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke?”

My unintentional and medically related fast actually had deep spiritual repercussions for me. I eventually did get my appetite back. I want to say it was about 6 weeks in total that I felt free of any craving or desire for food. But during that time, my mind was clear. I gained the ability to focus more but moreover I felt FREE of wants which left me available to form a spiritual connection that I had been actually avoiding.
