— Move —
nothing in nature blooms all year
There’s a certain level of physical exhaustion that feels very good and productive. It may even make you sleep better and allow the food you consume afterwards to taste better. With intentional exercise we can conjure that feeling anytime we want to, right? Well…
I know that I have been guilty of chasing that high over and over again just to find that instead I felt worn out and bloated more often than not.
But how could that be? How can I actually feel worse when I’m eating, sleeping and breathing a routine?
All I had actually done was try to cultivate a life that I didn’t need. The truth is that most days I’d rather have a cupcake than a compliment.
When my coach asked me “did you do your work out today?” I shouldn’t have wanted or needed to lie. If what I did that day was plant a side garden of vegetables, that’s an awesome accomplishment. The reality is that if I had done my workout first then I wouldn’t have been able to finish that garden. Prioritizing the garden project does not mean that I’m not dedicated to being physically fit.
I do suffer from a chronic illness and I do have limitations - That sentence was and is still the most difficult thing for me to come to terms with.
Cultivating relationships that allow you to be completely yourself should also apply to your personal achievements?
When we try to wear someone else’s passion as our own we really miss out on the chance to light our own fire. If you want to achieve anything meaningful then you must stop comparing your life to that of others. If I continued to believe that my life should follow the same exact path of the people around me then I would never create anything new for myself and I would truly miss out on some of MY life’s greatest pleasures.
You have and will continue to endure life’s many seasons and you will possess a better understanding of how you are made with each year that passes.
